Post #1: A Day in the Life of a Teacher

A teacher wakes up in the morning like the rest of us and pushed teh snooze button about ten times before realizing he or she must get up. They walk into the school and notice that yesterday's play-dough still hasn't been cleaned up and now leaves a nasty stain on the new carpet that was just put in over the summer. The first few student walk in and manage to bring in the mud with them, but the teacher smiles as she greets the guests. The morning session is fine, just a few mishaps, including a boy trying to swat a fly on a girl's nose. Tired, the teacher returns to the lounge where she feasts upon a meager salad. She returns to the classroom for the aftrnoon session t find one of the students missing (he got sent to the principal's office-this was the fly-swatting one). Everybody looks ready for a nap, but the teacher tells them to open up their writing manuals to learn how to write their first paragraph, which will eventually prepare them for Writing 140 in college. The children work tirelessly. At three, the bell rings and all the student leave, except for Jane, whose mother is running late at work. As Jane leave, the teacher wears a look of complete exhaustion, but still, her eyes express the greatest joy.
